S&P Group team member, Rick Moore, has run his very first marathon to raise funds for Norfolk charity, The Benjamin Foundation, achieving an impressive time of 3:55:46.
Rick chose the Brighton Marathon for his first attempt: it’s a marathon that has the reputation of having a great atmosphere. He started running back in 2017 as part of a memorial Parkrun for an Almary Green (part of the S&P Group) colleague, Mark Ring, who was a keen runner and who had competed a number of marathons both in the UK and overseas.
Rick wanted to run his marathon to raise funds for a local charity and in an interview with The Benjamin Foundation, he said: “I’ve also got a young family so when I read about The Benjamin Foundation I knew they were the right choice. I’d never thought about youth homelessness before and couldn’t imagine how hard it must be for young people to get themselves out of that situation.”
Staff at S&P have helped Rick raise money for the charity with sponsorship, quizzes, bake sales and dress down days in the office.
