Julian joined Smith & Pinching in 2006 as a support staff team member with the immediate ambition of becoming an adviser. He rapidly achieved this ambition and is now a Chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and a Graduate of the Later Life Academy.

Julian deals with all areas of financial planning specialising in Investments, Pensions and Inheritance Tax Planning. He regularly works with Trustees, those holding Powers of Attorney, Care Planning and Court of Protection cases.

Julian is a member of the S&P Investment Committee and is one of the architects of S&P’s range of standard portfolios which form the cornerstone of the client proposition.

Julian’s primary objective is to build long term relationships with his clients. By knowing each client better and having a regular review process in place, Julian can add real value by helping and guiding them through the various challenges and opportunities which arise. An important part of his approach is providing clear and straightforward explanations of sometimes complicated financial issues: he firmly believes his involvement allows the stress and worry of financial planning and management to be removed.

Outside work he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters along with his newest family recruit, Joey, a miniature schnauzer who inadvertently keeps him fit! When time allows he plays the piano, organ, drums and guitar and hopes before long to take up the saxophone.
