The Joy of Networking/S&P Connect Lunches
It was wonderful to see so many of our professional colleagues and connections at the recent S&P Connect Lunch. Thank you for your support.
Our next Connect Lunch is on Friday 14 June, 12.00pm to 2.00pm. Once again we will be in the Music Room at the Assembly House, Norwich. Places cost £20 each including a welcome drink, pots and shots style lunch and tea/coffee. Our speaker will be Caroline Rust of WorkshopsWork Ltd who is known to many of us for her inspirational talks. Caroline is a professional trainer, coach and motivational speaker and will be talking to us about how to work smarter to successfully juggle work and home lives.
At our last lunch, we were delighted to welcome Matt Sykes as our Speaker: Matt is a Sales Trainer, Coach and Author and his talk made us all think again about how we present our products and services to our audiences. You can find tips and ideas on his website at https://www.salescadence.co.uk/.
These lunches – in our view – are a perfect example of how a networking event should pan out. Not only was the food excellent, our speaker gave us food for thought too! We were able to meet and chat informally to those people we already knew, reinforcing the relationships that are in place and that helped to remind us what each of us has to offer. But that’s not all… We were also able to take the first steps in forging new relationships with people we’ve not met before, opening new doors to the possibility of working together. Certainly time well spent.
Some people hate networking and avoid it at all costs. It certainly can be a challenge for those of us who find small-talk a challenge but, like so many things, networking is a skill that can only be honed through practice. It’s worth persisting…
