Compulsory Pension Reform -
National Employment Savings Trust (NEST)

The ever changing pensions landscape means it's more important than ever to keep people informed.

The Labour government passed pension reform legislation, ratified by the Coalition, which compels all employers to automatically enrol their employees into a pension arrangement which will be phased in over the next four years depending on the number of employees in the business and the firm's staging date.

Employers will have to make minimum pension contributions and they will have another layer of administration duties imposed upon them which, if not handled correctly, could involve daily fines.

Existing pension arrangements may be registered as an alternative to the new NEST pension scheme; however, there will be an increased administration function and cost.
