Smith & Pinching is one of the largest firms of independent financial advisers and commercial insurance brokers in East Anglia. The company was founded back in 1973 by Barry Pinching and Gerry Smith who came together to build a business to serve the local community.  Since the retirement of the founding partners, the company has been headed by Group Chief Executive and Managing Director, David Hughff and Financial Director and Company Secretary, Scott Pinching.  

The Group encompasses Smith & Pinching Financial Services Limited and Smith & Pinching General Insurance Services Limited. Both of these divisions offer specialist advice in different fields - pensions and corporate financial planning, commercial insurance, household insurance and complete financial planning on an individual basis.

In addition, our investment company Smith & Pinching Portfolio Management Limited provides a discretionary portfolio management service, which looks after clients' investments on a bespoke basis.

Smith & Pinching employs around 130 staff all of whom are highly skilled and hold an impressive array of qualifications, including the coveted Investment Management Certificate, Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, Certificate of Insurance Practice and the NEBOSH Health & Safety Diploma. Several of our General Insurance staff have qualified to become either an Associate or Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
