After graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in economics from Leeds University, Ross joined Barclays Trust Company/Stockbrokers to manage investment portfolios on behalf of high net worth clients. He subsequently moved on to Affinity Investment Management to manage portfolios on behalf of private clients, trusts and charities.
Having accumulated this extensive hands-on experience, Ross joined Smith & Pinching in 2003 to co-found the company’s multi-asset fund management company. Regulatory changes prompted the sale of the fund management company some 10 years later.
Ross is now responsible for S&P’s private client investment services. He plays a key role in the management of our standard portfolios and segregated discretionary bespoke portfolios.
He presents regular internal monthly economic and asset allocation reviews and interviews many of the UK’s leading fund managers in order to fully understand the construction and management of their funds, which is crucial when considering their inclusion in model and bespoke portfolios.
Ross is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds the Diploma in Private Client Investment Advice & Management.
Away from work, he enjoys watching and playing most sports. He is a lifelong (and long suffering) fan of Newcastle United.
